During quarantine times, many of us long to be elsewhere, to be outside the walls of our homes. Many of us didn’t have the opportunity to attend camp this summer; it’s our own kind of oasis. Perhaps camp helps us feel more alive by igniting all of our senses, reminding us of the whimsical world we get to be a part of.
Because when you’re at camp…
…you’ll see the breathtaking beauty of your environment, allowing you to be transported into another world. Some properties sit right on waterfronts, shimmering in the summer sun. Others nestle up to majestic mountains and provide scenic vistas like you’d find at high-end resorts. Still others are in remote settings, surrounded by towering trees and an array of wildlife.
…you’ll hear birds chirping, water trickling and wind weaving through the trees. You might hear the laughter of other campers while sitting around a dining table or the cheers from a rambunctious game of capture the flag. At night, you might hear a coyote howl in the distance or stories told in the dim glow of a flashlight.
…you’ll smell wafts of sunscreen as you’re getting ready to jump into the lake and bugs spray when you’re on a hike. Scrumptious aromas from the camp kitchen will make your mouth water.
…you’ll feel the cool of the morning and warmth of an evening campfire. During the day, you’ll feel the heat of the afternoon sun, which can be easily offset by the icy water from a swimming hole.
…you’ll taste gooey s’mores or maybe sweet, refreshing watermelon. You might eat a tinfoil meal cooked over the fire or try a new dish from the camp’s dining hall.
When the time comes to return to camp, you’ll be ready to experience it with all of your senses. Visit thepowerofcamp.com to find a camp!
