CCCA members River Valley Ranch (Manchester, Maryland) and Word of Life Island (Schroon Lake, New York) teamed up with CCCA to share The Power of Camp on Fox & Friends. Shaun Murray, wake boarding champion and athlete with American Ninja Warrior, joined CCCA President/CEO Gregg Hunter and Word of Life’s Tommy Sewall for an interview about the benefits of camp. River Valley Ranch’s Jon Bisset explained the activities kids can participate in this summer, including ninja courses, and viewers had the chance to see Shaun Murray try out the ninja course on set. “It should be no secret that if kids only spend an average of about four minutes a day outside that it could lead to kids struggling with depression,” Hunter says. “We’ve done a study with the University of Oklahoma that shows after just a week of camp kids’ hope increases, so a week of camp can actually be more than just fun and games. It can actually change a kid’s life.”
